Direct Deposit Information

State employees who do not provide a direct deposit account upon hire or remove the direct deposit option will automatically receive a paper check mailed to the address listed in your employee profile.  

To Set Up Direct Deposit Account(s):
  • In ESS (Employee Self Serve System), click on the Payroll Tab on the top navigation bar
  • Look for the Personal Information Icon in the lower right corner of your screen
  • Click on the Direct Deposits link
  • To add a new main account, click new – You will need your account information including the routing number at this point. Once you have entered all required information, you will need to check the Disclaimer Box then Save
  • To add additional accounts, select the other bank option and then new to add bank information and follow the same process used for main account set up – be sure to add the amount you would like deposited to this account
To Update or Change Your Direct Deposit Account(s):

If you would like delete a Direct Deposit Account you must complete a direct deposit form (link below) and submit the completed form to State Finance, fax number 385.465.6012.  You may make changes to your Other Bank accounts by followings these steps:

  • In ESS (Employee Self Serve System), click on the Payroll Tab on the top navigation bar
  • Select Direct Deposits under Personal Information section
  • Choose Other Bank from the drop down
  • Select the account you would like to update/change
  • Select change from the bottom options
  • Go to the amount and update.
  • Click Save.

Please note: If your bank routing number is not recognized in the payroll system, you will need to complete and submit the Direct Deposit form (FI 21 Employee Authorization Agreement for Payroll Direct Deposits)found on the Employee Gateway. You will be required to include a voided check or other document from your financial institution showing the direct deposit routing number and account number.  If you have questions related to setting up a direct deposit account you may contact the Employee Resource Information Center at 801.957.9390.
